Signup & Onboarding
From nothing to a working project in one session. This page is for the person setting a workspace up — if someone already invited you, start with Joining an existing team instead.
Before you start
Already have colleagues on Lithora?
1. Create your account
Go to the signup page and register with an email address and password, or continue with Google or GitHub. Use your work email — a company domain is what makes domain-based discovery possible for the teammates who sign up after you.
The trial starts here
2. Set up your profile
Open Settings › Profile and do three things now, because they change how the product behaves later:
- Upload an avatar. Assignee avatars are how the board stays readable at a glance.
- Set your timezone. Due dates, the calendar and timeline views, and digest timing all key off it.
- Turn on two-factor authentication under Settings › 2FA. You are about to become a workspace owner, which is the account worth protecting.
3. Create your team
A team is the unit that owns projects and holds permissions. Click the + next to “Teams” in the sidebar, name it after the group of people (“Engineering”), not the work (“Q3 launch”). You are the Owner of the team you create, and the owner is who the seat invoice is charged to.
Full detail in Creating & Managing Teams.
4. Get real work in
An empty workspace teaches you nothing. Pick whichever of these matches where your work lives today:
Start a project
Create one project for something already in flight, then add the five or six work items you actually have in your head. See Projects 101.
Connect GitHub
Two-way issue sync, AI PR review and CI-failure triage. See GitHub PR & CI.
Import from your old tool
Linear, Jira, Asana, Trello or a CSV, mapped and previewed before anything is written. See Import & Migrate.
5. Invite the people who need it
- Members and admins — the people doing the work. Each one is a billable seat. Invite them from Team Settings › Members.
- Guests — clients, execs and contractors who only need to read. Free, never on the invoice, capped at 5 per team on Pro and 25 on Scale. See Roles & Permissions.
If you want future colleagues on your email domain to find this workspace by themselves, turn on domain discovery in Team Settings — covered in Joining an existing team.
6. Meet the agent
Press ⌘K and ask the agent to break a large item down or plan the week. It proposes a plan and executes only the actions you approve, and every executed action is written to the audit trail. See Lithora AI.
